Basic Video (same as Basic Photo)

Participants will have fun learning basic skills to capture professional looking photos.  Through a series of lectures & demonstrations, students will learn:

• Camera body: Learn the basic features and the 4 Auto exposure modes
• Landscape photography: Apply basic rules of composition on location
• Still Life photography: Learn about hot lights and create still life photos
• Editing: Learn workflow and basic adjustments using photo editors

Requirements: Students are required to have:
1. a DSLR or Mirrorless camera with a minimum of 1080p resolution
2. a laptop with a copy of Adobe Premiere (Elements or Pro)

Intermediate Video

Participants will gain a strong understanding of the camera settings used to capture the “Hollywood” look. It will include:

• Frame Rates and Shutter Speeds
• Resolutions: 1080 vs 4k
• Color Settings for the best “look”
• Handheld vs tripod shots
• Lenses, Angles, Framing & Shot Sizes
• Basic Audio for Video
• Basic Video Editing (Adobe Premiere Pro)

Participants will gain a strong understanding of advanced techniques used in the filmmaking process.  Participants will learn about:

• Story Development
• Stabilizers & Camera Movements
• Focus control & techniques
• Video Lighting
• Green Screen
• Audio for Video
• Advanced Video Editing: Adobe Premiere (Pro or Elements)

In this 4-day course, students will gain a strong understanding of the filmmaking process.  Participants will learn about:

• Basic scriptwriting
• Camera Auto Exposure modes
• Tripod vs hand-held shots
• How to use available lighting
• Audio for Video
• Basic Video Editing (iMovie or Adobe Premiere Elements)
