Act 48 approved workshop for PA licensed teachers. To get credits, instructors must take the Basic, Intermediate & Advanced workshops together.

Basic Audio Production

Students will gain a basic understanding of the audio chain, and the recording processes including an overview of microphones, headphones, speakers, and recording devices.

Advanced Audio Recording

Students will gain a solid understanding of the recording process from recording equipment, the audio chain, and editing “on the fly.” Students will apply the techniques learned to capture music in a professional recording studio, as well as a smaller scale recording system.

Advanced Audio Post Production

Gain a solid understanding of the DAW and plug-ins used in the professional industry. This workshop will cover post-production techniques including frequency equalization, dynamic range processing, and special effects.

Why Get Certified?

In a rapidly expanding industry and community, it takes hard work and dedication, as well as the occasional set of appropriate credentials to set yourself apart from the competition. There are many audio enthusiasts out there, but only a fraction of them have a Specialist Certification. Set yourself apart, get employed, then make a living doing something you love.

Avid Pro Tools is the industry standard audio recording and editing software; not only for music, but the audio industry as a whole. The vast majority of large-scale production companies in the world are using Avid products. 

What you will experience:

  • Learn LIVE from an Avid Certified Instructor with a decade of experience utilizing Pro Tools in a professional, as well as an educational capacity in the classroom. We know all too well that it’s easy to be hypnotized by a talking head on a screen. We promise you’ll get all of the information you need, and we’ll make it fun for you with an engaging class with no boring pre-recorded lectures.
  • Small class sizes of no more than 10 students. This will ensure plenty of time for questions and conversation in general.
  • NO SCREEN SHARING. We all know how obnoxious it is trying to bounce around between various windows and keeping track of who’s seeing what. All you need to worry about is logging in to the meeting and focusing on learning Pro Tools.
  • Supreme audio streaming quality via WebEx. We’ve tried Zoom, you’ve tried Zoom, we’ve all tried Zoom. WebEx is leading the pack in the preservation of audio fidelity in a streaming platform.

Schedule:

The class is run in something of a “bootcamp” capacity and will require two weeks of your time.

Class runs beginning on the second Monday of every month and runs Monday-Wednesday from 2pm-6pmEST.
